Optional retrofit financing is available throughout the HomeSave service area (RDCK). This loan is delivered in partnership with Nelson & District Credit Union and is structured as an advance loan, with funds made available at the beginning of the project.

Homeowners and renters within the RDCK (RDCK Public Web Map) may apply. Loan approval and credit qualification are determined directly by Nelson & District Credit Union.

The loan follows the same general eligibility framework as the HomeSave Retrofit Rebate and may be used for:

• Energy efficiency upgrades
• Associated measures required to complete retrofit work
• Resilience-related improvements connected to the project

Applicants must own and occupy a residential property within the City of Nelson and be enrolled in pre-authorized payment for their Nelson Hydro account. All Nelson Hydro, property tax, and other residential utility accounts must be in good standing. Applicants must also have a minimum of two years of credit history and obtain authorization from all individuals listed on the property title.

Financing may be used for:

• Energy efficiency upgrades
• Electric bicycles

Loan terms, approval, and repayment are administered by Nelson Hydro.
